Vintage Tractors Artist’s Statement

Maybe it’s because my son-in-law is a farmer and loves tractors. Maybe it’s my own love of old, rusty things. Any way you slice it, I can’t drive by a vintage tractor without taking a photograph of it. Especially if the tractor is abandoned in a field covered in snow or with weeds growing around it. The poignancy of this practical device, having spent its life being driven up and down fields by a human farmer, now being abandoned to rust away in a corner of the farm is something that gets me every time. I also like the textures and colours of these machines. I’ve compiled a very nice collection of vintage tractor photos and hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
